A simple, consistent personal care routine can help keep your skin, hair and scalp clean, comfortable and well cared for. At Swiss Cosmetics Lab, we believe the essentials should remain straightforward: cleanse, exfoliate where appropriate, moisturise and protect — then adjust according to your individual needs, lifestyle and environment.
Face Care Routine
Face Cleanser (Wash):
- As a general routine, cleanse morning and evening. If your skin is dry or sensitive, once daily may be sufficient. Cleanse after significant sweating when appropriate.
- Follow with a face moisturiser.
Face Exfoliator (Scrub):
- Use once or twice a week as a starting point, preferably in the evening, and adjust according to how your skin responds.
- On exfoliation days, the Face Exfoliator can replace your Face Cleanser for that wash.Follow with a moisturiser.
- Reduce the frequency or stop use if your skin becomes irritated, dry or uncomfortable.
Face Moisturizer:
- Apply after cleansing or exfoliating, according to your skin’s needs.
- Use the Day Moisturiser in the morning and Night Moisturiser in the evening.
Sun Protection (Sunscreen):
- Sun protection is an important part of daytime skincare, particularly when the UV Index is 3 or above or when spending time outdoors.
- Apply sunscreen after your moisturiser. Choose a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
- Reapply according to the sunscreen instructions, particularly during prolonged outdoor exposure, swimming or sweating.
Hair Care Routine
Hair Cleanser (Shampoo):
- As a starting point, shampoo according to how quickly your hair and scalp become oily, sweaty or affected by build-up.
- Men with an oily scalp, fine or straight hair, or a very active lifestyle may prefer more frequent washing, while dry, coarse or curly hair may require less frequent cleansing.
- Focus the shampoo primarily on the scalp and rinse thoroughly.
Hair Moisturizer (Conditioner):
- Use after shampooing to help condition, soften and improve the manageability of the hair.
- Follow the product directions and adjust the amount according to your hair type, length and condition.
Body Care Routine
Body Cleanser (Wash or Soap):
- Cleanse according to your lifestyle, activity level and personal needs. After exercise or significant sweating, showering may help remove sweat and build-up.
- Use warm rather than very hot water and avoid over-cleansing if your skin becomes dry or uncomfortable.
Body Moisturizer:
- Moisturise according to your skin’s needs, particularly after showering or whenever the skin feels dry.
- Pay particular attention to areas prone to dryness, such as the hands, elbows, knees and feet.
Seasonal Adjustments
This routine provides a simple starting point rather than a fixed set of rules. Individual needs vary according to skin and hair characteristics, age, activity level and environment. Temperature, humidity and UV exposure can also change throughout the year, so adjust your routine when needed.
Final Thought
Consistency matters more than complexity. Start with a simple routine, pay attention to how your skin, hair and scalp respond, and adjust when your needs change. Effective personal care does not require more steps — just the right ones, used consistently.
